Our commitment
Neurodiversity Learning Hub is committed to ensuring this website is accessible to as many people as possible, including those with disabilities, neurodivergent users, and people using assistive technologies. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.
We believe accessibility is particularly important for a SEND-focused organisation. The families, young people and professionals we support should be able to access our website without barriers.
What we have done
This website has been built with the following accessibility features:
- Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy
- Skip to main content link for keyboard users
- ARIA landmarks and labels on all key sections
- All interactive elements are keyboard accessible
- Visible focus indicators on all interactive elements
- Colour contrast ratios that meet WCAG 2.1 AA requirements (minimum 4.5:1 for text)
- All images include descriptive alternative text
- All form inputs have associated labels
- Dropdown menus are operable by keyboard and screen reader
- Font size is set at 16px base with relative sizing throughout
- Line spacing supports readability at all sizes
- The site is responsive and usable on mobile, tablet and desktop
Known limitations
We are aware that some aspects of the site may not yet be fully accessible. Contact forms are provided through a third-party plugin (Contact Form 7) whose accessibility is partially outside our control. We are working to address any outstanding issues and will update this statement as improvements are made.
